Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay, Dan Brown's novels (all of them), Timeline by Michael Chriton, Lion of Senet, Eye of the Labrynth, Lord of the Shadows by Jennifer Fallon, Labrynth by Kate Mosse. The Warrior & Witch series by Marie Brennan.
