Just a note...ever hear the soft music of a gurgling wake beneath the moon at sea? To my ears, it's a sound that evokes a serene state of mind. If you've never had the pleasure, you'll wonder what this ol' man is talking about.
Movies:
I enjoy some but not generally drawn to sitting for hours watching others live a life on a screen. The same goes for television. If I can't get up outa' my chair a little smarter, then I consider that time wasted. I'll admit that I was hooked on "Deadliest Catch" during lay-up last season as it's as real as it gets. Make no mistake; when you sit down to eat a plate of Alaskan Crab, it sure didn't swim up to the restaurant.
Books:
presently reading "13 Bankers"...Aftershock...In the absence of the Sacred...Voyage of the American Promise....most of my reading is oriented to real-world applications...navigation, boat repair and maintainence...boring stuff if you don't have an inherent curiousity to know how things work...lol
